UiPath's strength is scale and stability. Its Orchestrator platform manages hundreds of robots across departments, handles scheduling, monitors performance, and logs everything. Its AI capabilities let robots handle unstructured documents, beyond structured data entry. And its community is enormous: when your robot breaks because a supplier updated their web portal, someone on the UiPath community forum has probably already solved the same problem.

De kracht van UiPath is schaal en stabiliteit. Het Orchestrator-platform beheert honderden robots over afdelingen, regelt planning, bewaakt prestaties en logt alles. De AI-mogelijkheden laten robots ongestructureerde documenten afhandelen, verder dan gestructureerde gegevensinvoer. En de community is enorm: wanneer uw robot kapot gaat omdat een leverancier zijn webportaal heeft bijgewerkt, heeft iemand op het UiPath-communityforum het probleem waarschijnlijk al opgelost.

When UiPath is the wrong tool

UiPath is expensive. Licensing runs at roughly 6,000 to 15,000 euros per robot per year, depending on the package. For a municipality with one or two automations, the economics rarely work. It also carries a learning curve. Training a citizen developer to proficiency takes three to five days for Power Automate. It takes two to three weeks for UiPath. That is not a dealbreaker, but it is a real cost.

UiPath is duur. Licenties lopen op tot ruwweg 6.000 tot 15.000 euro per robot per jaar, afhankelijk van het pakket. Voor een gemeente met één of twee automatiseringen werken de economische verhoudingen zelden. Het brengt ook een leercurve met zich mee. Een citizen developer trainen tot bekwaamheid duurt drie tot vijf dagen voor Power Automate. Het duurt twee tot drie weken voor UiPath. Dat is geen dealbreaker, maar het is een echte kostpost.
